Mexican Tile have the following characteristics: They have sandy backs, caused by dumping the wet tile slurry into the mold on the ground to sun dry before baking. Mexican Tile can have chipped edges. Mexican Tile can have lime pops, little craters. Mexican Tile are not the same size. Mexican Tile are not the same thickness. Mexican Tile are not all flat. Mexican Tile are not all square. Mexican Tile does not have a kiln fired glazed finish. Mexican Tile is basically raw red clay which is usually hand pressed and sometimes with a little filtered dirt added, it is not ceramic tile with a kiln fired glazed finish, you have to keep it sealed and clean.
