Efflorescence is a White Deposit Caused by Water Intrusion Under Tile Installed & Sealed on the Exterior Power Washing Is the Best Solution Outside.

Efflorescence is a White Deposit Caused by Water Intrusion Under Tile Installed & Sealed on the Exterior, Power Washing Is the Best Solution. The white spots you see on the Mexican tile in the before photo above is called Efflorescence which is caused by water getting under the Mex tile via a flood or constant water intrusion.

The source of the water must be diverted or shut down. Efflorescence is a white deposit (usually calcium carbonate) that develops on the surface of grout and/or tiles as they dry out. It happens when soluble, naturally occurring mineral salts contained in Portland cement, or materials used in conjunction with it, rise to the surface.

Efflorescence is a similar phenomenon. As cement or cement tiles dry, the lime in the cement rises to the surface with the water and reacts with carbon dioxide in the air to form calcium carbonate. In this case, a white powder or film forms on the tile's face. Efflorescence has been a problem for many years, and is a topic of much controversy. The formation of these salt deposits are not mysteries.

Efflorescence, for the most part, water-soluble salts that come from many possible sources to mar and detract from an otherwise beautiful and serviceable structure. First of all, there must be water present to dissolve and transport the salts, remove the source of water and your almost there.

Never Use a Floor Cleaning Company That Will Steam Clean Your Mexican Tile Floor, It Does Not Work!

Never Use a Floor Cleaning Company That Will Steam Clean Your Mexican Tile Floor, It Does Not Work! If you have your Mexican tile floor steam cleaned the Mexican tile sealer will turn white and hazy, dull, and begin to peel, see photos above. A 'steam cleaning floor company in North Port Fl' ruined the floors of a couple in the process of moving into a house they recently purchased in Punta Gorda Fl, they also steam cleaned the paint right off the recently painted baseboards, see before and after photos.

If you are thinking about steam cleaning your Mexican tiles DO NOT DO IT. Hot steam water is the enemy for porous clay Mexican tiles with an applied finish, and steam cleaning your Mexican tile floor it will surely ruin the tile and the sealer. The 'steam cleaning floor company in North Port' who did the work at the home in North Port  had no idea how to clean Mexican tile floors, see before and after photos.

Never Use a Floor Cleaning Company That Will Steam Clean Your Mexican Tile Floor, It Does Not Work! The 'steam cleaning floor company in North Port' removed all the appliances in the Punta Gorda house and proceeded to steam clean the Mexican tile floor making a total mess out of the whole house, see before and after photos.

When the "workers" for the 'steam cleaning floor company in North Port' got to a point where the Mexican tile floor just continued to get worse, they just left the home, leaving all the appliances in the garage or on the back lanai. Mexican Tile - Saltillo Tile needs to be stripped, cleaned & sealed. Never "Steam Clean" Mexican tile floors it will ruin the finish, see before and after photos.

Step #1 chemical strip of Mexican tile floor. If your Mexican tiles are not coming clean and you have tried everything including cleaning your Mexican tiles the right way then it may be time for refinishing and restoration. These tiles are super porous like sponges and they start to disintegrate rapidly especially if there is a lot of foot traffic such as in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper price to use steam.

Step #2 floor machine scrubs floor. The only real way to fix Mexican tiles if they can’t be cleaned is to strip them using a chemical process and a floor scrubbing machine that agitates and picks up the liquefied old sealer, also a shop vac is used to remove the liquefied old sealer.
Step #3 cleaned and stripped Mexican tile floor is let dry and then sealed with several coats of a premium, durable, non yellowing sealer. Never Use a Floor Cleaning Company That Will Steam Clean Your Mexican Tile Floor, It Does Not Work!
